Company History
The origin, tradition and know-how of the present-day company, TGD Konfektion, mainly trace back to its founder, Hubert Wasser, and thus stand for more than 60 years of experience and expertise in the world of juicing.
In the years following the company's foundation in 1956, Hubert Wasser, through his entrepreneurial commitment and vision, rapidly managed to tap into new markets and grow the company's client base. Technical innovation, the highest quality standards and a strong customer focus have always been the overriding goals serving as guidelines for the company's strategies and activities. This maxim has not lost any of its topicality and to this day represents a cornerstone of our company policy.
Foundation
After many years of partnership at Eugen Peter's, a company specialising in winery supplies, Hubert Wasser decided in 1956 to start up his own business, initially focussing on pressing cloths and related ancillary services. Very soon, his new company enjoyed remarkable success in this fairly new line of business, resulting in the continued growth of its product portfolio. The development and sale of press racks was successfully complemented by the innovative design and flourishing sale of washing and cleaning machines and of transport devices for wine and juice makers. Hubert Wasser's entrepreneurial activity led to innovations that gradually attracted more and more attention in the market place, and the Certificate of Excellence of the Bad Dürkheim Congress of Viticulture awarded to him in 1960 is one of many proofs of the ever-increasing degree of recognition he achieved.
Years of Expansion
From its early stages, the company's business activities had a strong international focus with relations to customers in central and southern Europe and, at a later stage, to overseas clients too. Over the years, Hubert Wasser built up such a remarkable reputation in this industry that he became involved with a number of companies for which he acted as external consultant.
Innovation
he continued enhancement of the company's product range was at all times closely associated with the purposeful and innovative optimisation of the materials and techniques used in manufacturing. At a time when other companies were still using traditional materials such as hemp for pressing cloths and wood for press racks, it was Hubert Wasser who developed and realised forward-looking concepts based on novel synthetic materials offering the user hitherto unimagined benefits.
Change and Continuity
The company has always considered itself a global enterprise which, despite all its success, never ceased to bank on its traditional roots and to live the values of a family-owned and run business. Throughout the years, several generations of family members actively backed Hubert Wasser in various stages of the company's development and thus significantly supported its growth and expansion. Younger generations literally grew into the company, combining its history and tradition with their present-day educational and professional skills to raise the company's business profile and strategy.
The transfer of the business to the third generation was accompanied by a restructuring which was recently completed with the change of the company's name and legal form. With Thomas Diebold as Managing Director, the company now operates under the name of TGD Konfektion.
A new name, a new approach, but the uncompromising respect for traditional values such as fairness, honesty and quality, already practiced and upheld by Hubert Wasser, are at the centre of our business strategy. These values, combined with a high degree of loyalty to our customers, are the bedrock of a successful growth throughout and beyond the decades to come.
